Town Clerk
Description of Services
The Town Clerk keeps a journal of proceedings of the Town Board, preserves and compiles local laws, ordinances, resolutions, and public notices of the Board. The Town Clerk also acts as Records Management Officer for the Town. The Clerk has custody of the Town Seal and affixes it to such documents as authorized by law or the Board.
The Town clerk is also responsible for:
- Issuing handicapped parking permits
- Issuing Certificate of Residency
- All licensing: sporting, marriage, dog, peddler
- General and primary elections

Marriage Worksheet:
In order to ensure privacy appointments for Marriage Licenses are preferred.
Please print and complete the attached Marriage Worksheet prior to coming to the Town Clerks Office.
Must have original:
Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, and a valid Government Issued ID.
If either party has been divorced, please provide all divorce decrees. If you do not have a copy, contact the court in which the divorce was taken. Please call if you have any questions.

Description of Transfer Station Services - 2025
Notice
Any Berlin or Petersburgh town resident who wishes to utilize the Berlin Town Transfer Station will need to supply the Town Clerks Office with a copy of their Driver's License in order to obtain a Transfer Station Permit.
